About this game
Blocky Tanks is a free browser tank battle game made by a solo developer, currently at version 0.10, playable on PC and mobile with no download.
Objectives: every battle opens with a banner stating the goal - capture the flag point, escort the convoy, or destroy more enemies. The capture point shows a flag marker with distance and clings to the screen edge with a direction pointer when off-screen.
Interface: a minimap shows terrain, rivers, roads, the capture point, allies and spotted enemies, with your base always at the bottom. It can be dragged anywhere (finger drag on phone, Left Ctrl plus mouse drag on PC) and reset by double-click. Settings allow hiding the team lists and the minimap. On phones the joystick is 20% smaller and the team lists sit higher, out of the way of the thumbs.
Gameplay: the ammo rack has its own durability (45% of the tank's HP) and never detonates on the first hit, with a warning shown when damaged. A repair kit (key 0) restores one module - tracks, ammo rack, engine, gun or turret ring. Tanks accelerate smoothly instead of instantly, and captures take longer while every penetrating hit on a capturing tank knocks progress back.
Other fixes: sniper zoom no longer jitters when aiming from behind cover, and the results screen fits phones in landscape. The developer plans more nations and game modes, then online battles with real players.
