A Reddit post by the developer of MurderXFile, a browser-based murder mystery game in which players investigate fictional cases using crime scene photos, witness statements, messages, CCTV and suspect profiles. Two cases are available, with Part 1 of each free to play for around 30 minutes. The post asks where to find an audience for this kind of game and does not include a play link.

## Original post

Where would you promote a browser-based murder mystery game?

I’ve recently launched MurderXFile, a browser-based murder mystery game where players investigate fictional cases using crime scene photos, witness statements, messages, CCTV, suspect profiles and other evidence. I’ve got two cases available, with Part 1 of each completely free to play (around 30 minutes), and I’m now trying to figure out where the actual audience for this type of game hangs out. I’m less interested in general advice like “post on TikTok” and more interested in specific places that you’ve actually had success with. Are there any particular: Subreddits Facebook groups TikTok/Instagram communities YouTube channels or small creators Websites Forums itch.io communities Other apps or platforms that you’d recommend for something like this? The audience I’m looking for is people who enjoy murder mysteries, detective/deduction games, case-file games, escape rooms and puzzle-solving. I’m happy to promote it myself and make content around it — I’m mainly struggling with figuring out where those people actually are . Any specific communities, creators or platforms you’d recommend would be really appreciated. submitted by /u/Human-Panic6945 to r/IndieDev [link] [comments]
