About this game
War Games is an open-source, browser-based geopolitical strategy simulation. Three great powers — NATO, Russia, and China — compete for territory, resources, and global dominance on an interactive Leaflet map. Each faction is controlled by an LLM that makes strategic decisions every turn, including nuclear strikes and an end-game victory screen. The project is built with TypeScript, Vite, Leaflet, and Express, and supports Google Gemini, OpenAI, and Anthropic Claude, with per-faction provider overrides (for example Claude for NATO, Gemini for Russia, ChatGPT for China) and a narrator model. Running it locally requires Node and an API key for at least one provider: copy .env.example to .env, set the key, then run npm run dev and open http://localhost:3000. The API server binds to 127.0.0.1:3001 by default. Licensed under MIT.
