# Le Final Boss

A free browser beat 'em up inspired by a viral video of a Nice game shop clerk defending his storefront: 12 waves, 11 moves, 8 passives, 3 bosses, 3 ults, in EN/FR/RU, also available on Android.

## Description

Le Final Boss is a free browser beat 'em up built with Phaser 3 in plain JavaScript. Inspired by a viral video of a game shop clerk standing in his doorway to protect his shop in Nice, it offers 12 waves, 11 moves, 8 passives, 3 bosses and 3 ultimate attacks, with pixel-art sprites, anime cut-ins and French voice lines for the hero. It supports English, French and Russian, and has an Android build. A headless test bot was used to check balance. Playable free in the browser on itch.io.

## Original post

One day, one tribute game: how Claude, an image model, ElevenLabs and Suno made a browser beat 'em up)

A viral video from Nice: a game shop clerk standing in his doorway to protect his shop. We turned it into a free browser game in one day. How the work split: - Claude: all the code, Phaser 3 in plain JavaScript, no bundler. 12 waves, 11 moves, 8 passives, 3 bosses, 3 ults, EN/FR/RU, an Android build. A test bot plays the whole game headless to check the balance. - An image model: the pixel-art sprites, the street, the anime cut-ins. It kept drawing real characters (an anime fighter, a yellow chomper with a ghost) whenever a prompt said "game hero", so every prompt now says "original characters only, no logos". - Animation: the image model gives one good pose, not a consistent walk cycle. So Claude wrote a tool that cuts each character into a paper doll (body, arms, thighs, shins, shoes) and walks it with 2-bone IK, feet planted (picture below). - ElevenLabs: 53 sound effects and 17 French voice lines for the hero. New lines are generated in several takes, and Whisper picks the one it understands best. - Suno: the music (I made the tracks). The lesson: the slowest part wasn't code, it was balance. The first version was so easy that even the clumsy test bot won.
