# Bismillah c'est les ténèbres

A short satirical French-language adventure game about the autumn 2026 French student protests and the 2027 presidential election, played across four pencil-sketch levels in about ten minutes.

## Description

Free browser game in French, playable on desktop and mobile (landscape) with keyboard, mouse or touch. Four levels: a protest group chat where you judge each message as friend or undercover cop, an apartment gear-selection sequence using quick-time events where better gear raises police-check risk, a Bastille level where you pass checks, chant in rhythm and dodge tear gas canisters while managing karma, and a ballot box level. Pencil-sketch visuals drawn in code, no external art or sound assets. Solo project built with the help of an AI coding assistant.

## Original post

I made a short satirical browser game about the 2026 French student protests (in French, free)

Game Title: Bismillah c'est les ténèbres Playable Link: https://ushum.itch.io/bismillahcestlestenebres Platform: Web browser (desktop and mobile, landscape) Description: A short satirical adventure game about the student and high-school protests that swept France in autumn 2026, and the 2027 presidential election. It plays in about 10 minutes, in four levels drawn in a pencil-sketch style. The group chat: your protest group chat has been infiltrated. Read each message and decide whether it comes from a friend or an undercover cop. Every piece of info you leak comes back to haunt you later. The apartment: pick your gear (leather jacket, swimming goggles, gas mask...) through quick-time events. Better gear protects you, but raises your risk of being taken into custody at a police check. This is based on real events: in October, Paris police seized swimming goggles and saline solution from high-school students. Bastille: get through the police checks, chant in rhythm, push the line and dodge tear gas canisters. Run out of karma and you end up in custody. The ballot box: the easiest level. In theory. The protest signs in the game are real ones from this autumn's marches. The game is in French. Keyboard, mouse or touch. Free to Play Status: * [x] Free to play * [ ] Demo/Key available * [ ] Paid Involvement: Solo project. I designed the game and directed everything (levels, mechanics, tone, art direction), and built it with the help of an AI coding assistant. Everything is drawn in code, with no external art or sound assets. submitted by /u/Ushum2027 to r/playmygame [link] [comments]
