# VybeCiv

VybeCiv is a free, browser-playable turn-based 4X civilization game. You first build cities and research technology on Earth; once you reach orbit, the entire planet becomes a single tile on a solar system map, and later the solar system becomes a single tile on a galactic map—same controls, just ever-larger maps. No registration, no download, and playable on mobile.

## Description

VybeCiv is a free, browser-playable turn-based 4X civilization game. No registration, no download, and playable on mobile. The gameplay involves building cities and conducting research on Earth; once your civilization reaches orbit, the entire planet shrinks to a single tile on a solar system map, and later the solar system itself becomes a single tile on a galactic map, using the same controls to develop on ever-larger maps. The author states that Claude Code was used to help write most of the PixiJS rendering and turn logic, map tiles, interface panels, and save/load functionality, as well as handle the zooming from planet to solar system to galaxy; the AI opponent behavior is weaker and only became more reasonable after several rounds of adjustment. The author also used Grok Bot for planning and launch, Suno for music, and fal.ai for art. Design and balance are handled by the author themselves.

## Original post

I built a free civ 4X game with Claude Code where you build a civilization: earth -> solar system -> galaxy

VybeCiv is a turn-based 4X civ game that runs in the browser. You build cities and research on Earth. Once you reach orbit, the whole planet becomes one tile of the Solar System, and later the Sun's system becomes one tile of the Galaxy. Same verbs, bigger maps. Free, no signup, no download, works on phones. How Claude Code helped: - wrote most of the PixiJS rendering and turn logic - was quick with map tiles, UI panels and save/load - handled the zoom from planet to Solar System to Galaxy, which was the trickiest part to get right - was weaker at AI opponents: it took several rounds before they expanded sensibly and stopped doing odd things - worked best when I gave it small tasks, one system at a time, and asked for a small test before touching the combat math Design and balance were mine. Play free: https://vaigames.com/vybeciv/ Also used: Grok Bot for planning and launch, Suno for music, fal.ai for art. Happy to share prompts or how I set up the project if anyone's curious. submitted by /u/albertsimondev to r/ClaudeAI [link] [comments]
