# Fairway Golf Simulator

Fairway is a browser-based golf simulator where every course is generated from a seed. Players can create 9- or 18-hole courses across eight biomes, tune 40+ generation settings, play stroke play, scramble and match play with up to 4 players, practice on a driving range, and use an endless mode. Courses can be exported as shareable codes, and the game is free and open source.

## Description

Fairway is an open-source golf simulator that runs in the browser, built in JavaScript with three.js. Each course comes from a seed: players generate 9- or 18-hole courses in one of eight biomes, each with its own terrain, water, trees, weather and lighting, and can tune more than 40 generator settings. Courses can be exported to a share code so others can play the same layout. The simulator includes a day-night cycle, fog, glow balls and floodlights for night golf, plus an endless mode that keeps generating random holes. Game modes include stroke play, scramble and match play with up to 4 players and configurable teams, along with a driving range that tracks club and shot data and full shot replays. Profiles are saved in the browser and track stats such as pars, birdies, bogeys, trees hit, hazards and a sim handicap. A real launch monitor can be connected through the Rela connector for PC users, while a keyboard-enabled demo runs directly in the browser on desktop and mobile. It is free and fully open source.

Fairway - My procedurally generated golf simulator built using Claude Code in about a month is available in beta today (entirely open source)

Game Title: Fairway Golf Simulator Playable Link: https://fairwaygolfsim.netlify.app/ Platform: PC, Mobile (browser based). PC Required for using a launch monitor to hit real golf balls. Description: Fairway is a golf simulator where every course comes from a seed. Many games like this use the same method (Minecraft, Hytale, Valheim). You can choose to generate 9 or 18 hole courses in one of eight different biomes. Each has its own terrain style, water, trees, weather and light. The generator has 40+ settings for tuning the look and feel of each course. Fairway width, tree counts, houses, rivers, lakes can all be tuned to name just some. Each course can be exported to a code so that you can share it with your friends and they can play the same course as you (multiplayer planned for the future). The sim has a real day night cycle. I built in things like fog that will roll in to the low areas in the evening and morning, and burn off with the sun as it comes up, and sunrise and Sunset tilt the colors so that it feels like real morning and night. I even added glow ball and toggleable floodlights for night golf if you are feeling it. Fully adjustable in any mode. Since its procedural I also built in an endless mode. The sim will just continue to generate a single hole completely randomly from the full list of biomes and settings for you to play until you want to stop. Play a round, or play 50 holes straight. I also made sure that the ball flight model was built as realistic as possible. I gathered trackman, GC3, Skytrak, and R50 launch monitor sessions and had Claude fit Fairway's flight model to the averages the best it could. If there is feedback about any of this I can make changes extremely fast and be testing them in minutes. I built in different formats on top of the normal stroke play. You can scramble and match play with to 4 players, and you can also configure teams for these modes too. If you and your buddies want to go low on a 4 man scramble, have at it. Even in endless mode. Its got a fully functional driving range that will track club and shot data, along with full replays for any shot. Shot replays also work across all modes. Up to 4 players here as well. Profiles save local to your browser and track all sorts of fun stats like your par/birdie/bogey count and even your trees hit and hazards. It will also calculate a sim handicap for you. Future work around this sim handicap is planned. The game is insanely tiny, ~45 MB (including the connector exe for launch monitors), and entirely written in Javascript using the three.js engine. The game code itself is ~15 MB. It can run on anything that has a browser. Runs great on iPhone and Android. The game was developed to use the Rela connector ( https://docs.rela.golf ) and should work with ANY launch monitor that Rela supports. Use GSPro Mode with port 1921 for now. I'm working to get fairway added soon! Instructions on the website explain how it works. Shoutout to the developer of this awesome tool. Fairway wouldn't exist without it. I want feedback; bugs, "this feels wrong," "the putting is off," "my phone melted." If you have an issue, the "Help → Report a problem" button copies a diagnostic block you can paste into a GitHub issue or a comment here. It's not perfect. I squashed a lot of bugs but it is a beta after all. Let me know! Finally, it's all free, and it's all open source . I plan on continuing to develop it with you all based on your feedback! My next updates are going to go towards improving keyboard controls and gamifying things. If you would rather help directly yourself, I've committed my agent files so that your own AI agents can pick up and develop seamlessly. Feel free to submit PRs! If you are still reading here, I hope that this can bring some variety to your sim golf journey. I just want people to have a fun alternative to the big names out there today without paying hundreds. The website has a keyboard enabled demo that will run right in your browser. I would love for you all to
