About this game
Pitch Bugs is a small 3D cricket game that runs in the browser. The player controls a bug with a bat and swings with a click, tap, Space or Enter, timing the shot against the bounce of the ball. Clean hits along the ground score four, hits on the full score six, and softer shots let the batter run one, two or occasionally three runs while the fielding insects chase and cut off the ball; catches only count on the full. Early overs are easier, with bowling pace and fielding tightening as the innings goes on. The match is presented with a stadium of insects, two batting bugs at the creases and a camera that moves in on key moments. Other controls are P or Esc to pause and M to mute. There are no accounts and no backend — it is a static site built with Three.js, TypeScript and Vite, published under the MIT license, with original art and procedural audio, and the author describes it as a vibe-coded project made with Grok Build.
